Make that number twelve for Walk-On’s Bistreaux & Bar. The family-friendly sports bar co-owned by Drew Brees is set to break ground on its newest restaurant in Alexandria, LA on Friday, May 12. The Saints QB invested a few years ago in the company and since then it has seen expansive growth.
In the past few years, the company has built locations across Louisiana (four in Baton Rouge, two in New Orleans, one in each Houma, Shreveport, Bossier City, Lake Charles, Lafayette, and Lubbock, TX ) and plenty more are on the way. Future locations include two in Louisiana (Covington and Prairieville) then the great Texas expansion begins -- Austin, Beaumont, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Houston, San Antonio, and Tyler, TX. The sports bar also plans on a franchise in Auburn and Tuscaloosa, AL; Gainesville and Tallahassee, FL; Gulfport, MS; and Knoxville and Nashville, TN.
The ceremony for this store’s beginning starts at 11:00 a.m. Friday with a brief reception and highlights of Walk-Ons most popular menu items.
“I am very pleased to partner with Brandon and welcome him to the Walk-On’s family,” said Brandon Landry, co-founder of Walk-On’s Enterprises, to Franchise.com. “The people of Alexandria have been clamoring for a Walk-On’s of their own and we can’t wait to bring them one.”
The restaurant should feel right at home in Alexandria. The 7,500-square-foot restaurant’s menu serves up game day atmosphere and food with the taste of Louisiana. That means VooDoo Shrimp, Fried Louisiana Catfish Platter, Crawfish Etou-ways, and much more.
“This project has been a long time in the making,” said Thompson. “What started out as a casual conversation with Brandon Landry many years ago has now become a reality. We look forward to providing an awesome atmosphere while serving our guests delicious food as they cheer on their favorite teams.”
Walk-Ons opened in 2003 in the Louisiana and was named after the two Co-Founders, Brandon Landry and Jack Warner walked-on for the LSU basketball team. The restaurant won #1 Sports Bar in America by ESPN in 2012; New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees joined the team as a partner in 2015.
This is one of a few investments into the food and beverage industry for the Saints QB. He recently sunk $10 million into a Food Delivery App.
Opening in mid-November, the restaurant will feature over 70 HDTVs, almost 50 beers on tap, a VIP room, and a large outdoor patio. For more about Walk-Ons, visit the company’s website.
