BUSINESS: 7 Sports Bar Interior Design Tips for a Great Game Viewing Experience
Sports bars are supposed to offer their guests and fans an experience and atmosphere that is as close and exciting the live event itself. They should enjoy everything from cheering their favorite teams and meeting and socializing with other fans to the drinks and food on your menu. In that light, an exceptional interior design and fitout should go a long way in enhancing the popularity of a sports bar. Here are seven tips for designing (or redesigning) your sports bar.

Who has PTO?
Paid sick leave is nearly universal among civilian workers at the upper end of wage distribution but it becomes increasingly rare among lower earners. For example, 92% of workers in the top quarter of earnings ($32.21 per hour or higher) have access to some form of paid sick leave compared to only 51% of workers earning wages in the lowest quarter ($13.80 per hour or less). This infographic provides an overview of levels of access to paid sick leave among a selection of key U.S. occupation groups.
‘Social Distancing’ Searches Surge
While experts agree on the fact that it’s too late to stop the pandemic in its tracks, slowing down the spread of the virus or “flattening the curve” is the #1 objective of all most policy measures currently taken. As the following chart shows, many people aren’t entirely sure what "social distancing" is and turn to Google to learn more.
WrestleMania 36 to Stream Live
WrestleMania 36 was slated to be a live show in Tampa Bay… until Covid-19 hit US shores. However, the WWE is still planning on moving forward with the event by live streaming at the WWE Performance Center without fans. The event will be aired on PPV and the WWE Network. BAIL OUT?
Why it matters to you: We are all wondering if the government will step in to help our industry.
Let’s be frank…we are in unchartered waters here. Who among us could have imagined this scenario even a week ago! Of course, our community is nothing but resilient. This is clearly evidenced by the number of operators that have quickly converted their business model to be home delivery and carryout focused. For many of us, it may be the only business you do in the next few months. There are many already calling for direct relief from the Federal government for restaurants, but will it be enough or come in time?
None of us can know, but we also have to find ways to move forward. If you haven’t already done it, we strongly encourage you to communicate directly with your customers. Tell them what you are experiencing in direct and honest terms. From there you can share your plans and keep your connections. The alternative -- doing nothing -- means you will disappear without a peep.
Whether the government steps in will be determined in time, but for those of you that are closed altogether, this moment must be equal parts frustrating and terrifying. This will undoubtedly cause permanent closures, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Now is the time to start talking to your vendors, lenders, and landlords.
This among other topics will be discussed this Thursday at 5pm ET/2pm PT during our live chat event.
We can’t guarantee your business will survive these next few months, but we can promise to have an open and direct conversation about how you fight to keep your livelihood. We are as affected by this as every restaurant! So please know, we are in this fight with you, every step of the way.
