Football Weekend TV Preview - Oct. 22-23

As we enter the Week 8 in the NCAA and Week 7 in the NFL, the stakes continue to rise. This is especially true where the Top 25 NCAA teams got a new number one as Alabama leaped over Ohio State after their decisive win over Tennessee.

This week sees 'Bama taking on a great (6) Texas A&M team at home, and Ohio State traveling to Penn St where they are almost 20 point favorites. With the potential for another shake up, (4) Michigan and (5) Washington will be keeping a close eye on Tuscaloosa and Happy Valley.

The NFL sees a big 4pm ET matchup between the Patriots and the Steelers that could determine home field throughout the playoffs. Without Ben Rothlesberger the Steelers may have a tall task to get a win at Heinz. Other key AFC matchups include a prime time affair on Monday evening between a resurgent Houston Texans and a wounded Denver Broncos to further clarify the conference power rankings.

In the NFC, Minnesota visits Philadelphia in an important test for both teams playoff hopes. Then Sunday night we see a great matchup between Seattle and Arizona in Glendale for NFC bragging rights.

It’s still early enough in the NFL schedule that few teams are completely without hope of the playoffs. Every game retains a relevance to the way it will all shake out in January. So buckle up, it should be another great week of football!
