It’s a wing holiday!
On July 29, 1977, the Buffalo City Council declared the first National Chicken Wing Day. Since then, and until now, the concept of wings as a standalone food has been nothing short transformative in American bar culture. There is hardly a traditional pub, sports bar, family style restaurant or even some fine dining concepts that doesn’t include chicken wings as a staple on their menu.
As if that wasn’t enough motivation, this year is the 40th anniversary of National Chicken Wing Day. The added bonus, of course, is that late-July isn’t a very busy time for most restaurants. What better way to motivate your guests to visit than by celebrating the holiday with a special promotion? You can even run a month-long deal with a special event on July 29th (a Saturday this year).
Make your event extra special by offering some beer-wing combos. If you’re not sure what beer goes best with what wing flavor, check out Frank’s beer & wing pairing page. They also have a slew of great wing recipies, so you can stand out from the crowd serving just the basics.
Great wings can be a significant source of revenue for any restaurant. If you sell wings, then you have all the incentive you need to celebrate their contribution to your business.
