The upcoming week of football promises to continue to shake up the status quo in the NCAA and further reveal who will be the biggest favorites for Super Bowl 51 in Houston.
The college football schedule is less burdened this week with rank matchups, but there are a couple that should impact Bowl assignments and potentially the CFP. (8) Oklahoma visits (10) West Virginia in a conference matchup that could cement Oklahoma’s claim they belong in the mix for a playoff spot. With Alabama as the remaining undefeated team in serious contention for playoff spot, Oklahoma’s two losses might not preclude them from consideration.
In the NFL, this is the final week with scheduled byes for the season. As we head into Week 11, the playoff picture is becoming clear as mud. There are, however, a bunch of great games with playoff implications on Sunday. Two big matchups are Arizona visiting Minnesota and Seattle hosting Philadelphia. Both games have significant implications for seeding and playoff eligibility. In the AFC Oakland sees Houston come into town at the top of their division and the Raiders are fighting to keep pace with KC and Denver. All in all, the NFL seems to be proving its second half will be better than it’s first -- let’s hope so.
