The Best Time for Restaurants to Post on Social Media Is... [Hack #100]

Nearly all restaurants use social media as an easy way to promote your businesses. If you’re not on social media, well you should be!

Many social media content creators have asked a popular question that we want to help with -- “When’s the best time to post on social media?” Timing is relatively important because you want to ensure people are seeing your content and that it isn’t getting hidden at the bottom of their feeds.

Here’s some recent data to help answer it.

Instagram: Highest engagement on Instagram for restaurants was found to be around 10am-12pm, according to NapoleonCat. Another poll found that more than half of the top social media managers said that evenings from 7-9pm was the best time to post on Instagram.

Facebook: Forbes recommends posting at peak traffic times for Facebook which are around mid-week from 1pm-3pm and at 7pm.

Twitter: The Marketing Analytic company TrackMaven found that the best time to tweet in the restaurant industry is 1pm on Fridays. This is most likely when restaurant goers are making weekend dining plans.

The best thing to keep in mind is that every audience has unique preferences and most establishments use a trial and error strategy. It’s important to experiment and find what works best depending on your audience.
