Restaurants: Got Water Stains on Your Tables?

This stain doesn't have to be a pain.

It’s unavoidable. You encourage your servers to use coasters and bar napkins when serving cold drinks, but when they get double (or triple) sat, they sometimes forget. The down side is that cold beverages can cause water residue on finished wooden surfaces that can be very difficult to remove.

Next time you’re faced with this problem try using a hairdryer to remove the water marks off your wooden tables.

First, set the hairdryer to medium heat and hold 2-4 inches from the stain. Buff the stain with a napkin or t-shirt as you heat the wood. Relatively new stains should come out quite nicely. Older stains are harder to remove, but you should see a remarkable improvement.

For bonus points buffer the area with olive oil!
