It's been featured in the news and has been popping up on menus across the country, but what is Farm-to-Table? Simply put, it's a social movement started by a few chefs, like Alice Waters, who believe there should be as much focus on where food comes from as how it tastes.
In many ways, Farm-to-Table encourages an awareness around who grows the food we are eating and how it's produced. Beyond supporting sustainable agricultural methods, buying and eating locally produced foods and products can improve local economies, create jobs and increase tax revenue.
